Cassini views Dione's south pole
Cassini views Dione's south pole Cassini passed under Dione's south pole to capture the five views in this animation on 8 April 2007. The five images were taken over 40 minutes, about 10 minutes apart, from distances of approximately 260,000 kilometers away, at intervals of approximately 3,700 kilometers. During that time, Dione rotated about 3.6 degrees. NASA / JPL-Caltech / SSI / animation by Emily Lakdawalla
