The Planetary Society Announces Media Resources and Events for Mars InSight Landing

On 26 November 2018 just before noon Pacific (3:00 p.m. ET / 20:00 UTC), NASA’s InSight lander will descend through Mars’ atmosphere and hopefully touch down softly on the surface of Mars.

Planetary Society Announces Test Flight for Privately Funded LightSail Spacecraft

The Planetary Society today announced the first of its LightSail spacecraft will embark on a May 2015 test flight. Funded entirely by private citizens, the solar sail satellite will hitch a ride to space aboard an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

Phobos LIFE Ready to Launch

Can living organisms survive a terribly harsh, years-long trek to Mars� moon Phobos and then back to Earth? That's the question asked by the Planetary Society's Living Interplanetary Flight Experiment (LIFE) as it prepares to leave for the Red Planet later this month.
