Build your own papercraft Curiosity rover
Here are links to two awesome papercraft models of the Curiosity rover that you can download and -- assuming you have a LOT of patience and a steady hand -- assemble. They won't be as durable as my plastic canvas ones of course but they are a lot more accurate! The one in the photo below was made by a fellow named Yogi active on the forum papermodelers.com. Reading the discussion about how this one was designed and came together is quite interesting; and of course the forum has lots of other papercraft spaceship designs for you to build! Another Curiosity rover design, by Julius Perdana, is available from paper-replika.com (download link is at very bottom of that page). I would love to build one of these but am afraid to start lest it take over my life.
And if you think that one is detailed, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Check out this model. Thanks to Glen Nagle for the tips to these two sites!
