"Scrutons" outcrop, sol 548
"Scrutons" outcrop, sol 548 In the middle of a long drive within Violet Valley on sol 548, Curiosity stopped to take two sets of photos of outcrops of rock that had been called "striated terrain" based upon its appearance in HiRISE images. This flat outcrop, Scrutons, was in the floor of the valley on the northwest side of Curiosity's path. The other spot, visible in a different image, was called Junda.
