Rendering Earth Above is a rendering where the land surface and atmosphere gases + aerosols are included while clouds are omitted. Note the eastern limb (right) is brighter since DSCOVR is positioned over a location nearly 10 degrees away from where the sun is viewed overhead on the Earth. The oceanic sun glint is correspondingly a bit off center. Due to increased atmospheric effects near the limb the Atlantic coastline of Brazil has less contrast than the Pacific side of South America. Steve Albers
