Neptune ring arcs 1.4-micron 85-s exposure highlighting the rings and moons. The moons and ring arcs are more defined in this shorter exposure because they have less time to move and therefore ‘smear’ on the detector. The arc locations in the JWST images don’t quite match the expected locations. The details of this discrepancy will help us better understand the dynamics and evolution of clumpy rings.
