Jezero crater regional topography
Jezero crater regional topography Isidis basin, about 1500 kilometers in diameter, was the last of Mars' large impact basins to form. The landing site of Mars 2020 will be in Jezero crater, on the northwest edge of the basin. Nili Fossae is a region of fractured terrain. Geologists think that the fractures in Nili Fossae formed as a result of the Isidis impact. Syrtis Major, to the southwest, is a volcanic region.
