AVATAR organ chip The AVATAR (A Virtual Astronaut Tissue Analog Response) investigation uses organ-on-a-chip devices to study the effects of deep space radiation and microgravity on human health. Chips containing cells from Artemis II astronauts will fly alongside the crew on their journey around the Moon, providing an unprecedented look at how the deep space environment affects the human body at the cellular level.
