Storm on the Horizon
Storm on the Horizon Juno captured this image during perijove 21 on 21 July 2019 at 04:37 UTC, from a distance of 42,965 kilometers above the planet's clouds at a latitude of 46 degrees south. This view highlights the contrast between the colorful South Equatorial Belt and the mostly white Southern Tropical Zone, a latitude that also features Jupiter’s most famous phenomenon, the persistent, anticyclonic storm known as the Great Red Spot.
