Oppy can you hear us? This image was taken by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera
onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) on November 24, 2018. Opportunity is still
where she was when the worst planet-encircling dust event (PEDE) stopped her in her tracks on
June 10, 2018, halfway down Perseverance Valley, which cuts Endeavour Crater’s western rim.
Principal Investigator for HiRISE Alfred McEwen, Professor of Planetary Geology and Director of
the Planetary Image Research Laboratory at the University of Arizona highlighted Oppy’s location
with a yellow box. Zoom in to the center of the image. North is up in this map-projected image. NASA / JPL-Caltech / University of Arizona / A. McEwen
