Midnight Adventures
Zaak says: "This photo, which I call "Midnight Adventures," was taken a short distance off the famous Trail Ridge Road from an elevation over 12,300 feet (3,750 meters). The elevation and dry air helped increase my visibility, and the topography of the mountains to the south blocked out much of the light pollution from the Denver metro area. I was extra lucky this time and even managed to capture a bright meteor in this shot! Experiences like this fill me with wonder at the scale of the universe and that I get to be here to see it. And of course, photos like this make me glad to support an organization that helps me - and others - understand my place in space!"
