JWST sees spiral galaxy IC 5332 JWST was able to capture this mesmerizing view of the galaxy IC 5332 using its Mid-InfraRed Instrument (MIRI). At a diameter of about 66,000 light-years, this dramatic, swirling galaxy is just a fraction of the size of the Milky Way, which is about 105,700 light-years in diameter. IC 5332 is located more than 29 million light-years from Earth and was previously imaged by Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3). ESA/Webb, NASA & CSA, J. Lee and the PHANGS-JWST and PHANGS-HST Teams
