From Eagle to Endeavour (December 2017)
From Eagle to Endeavour (December 2017) These images show route Opportunity took from her landing in Eagle Crater to Endeavour Crater, and then along the western rim of the crater from Cape Tribulation to Perseverance Valley. The rover drove into Perseverance, at Cape Byron, in August 2017. Since then, the MER team has been looking for evidence that will reveal how exactly this unique geological feature formed. The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) took the base images for these graphics. Larry Crumpler, a member of the MER science team, provided the annotations. NASA / JPL-Caltech / UA / L. Crumpler / NMMNH
