“First Light” spectra from OCO-2 The “First Light” spectra from OCO-2. This figure shows a single 0.333 second “frame” from orbit 506, recorded on the morning of August 6, 2014. The 760 nm O2 A-band (top “stripe”), 1610 nm CO2 band (middle “stripe”), and 2060 nm CO2 band (bottom “stripe”) are shown. Wavelength increases from left to right, and the vertical dimension records eight adjacent spatial “footprints”. The lowest footprint (Footprint 1) is contaminated by a bright cloud. The remaining footprints appear to be more cloud free. NASA / JPL-Caltech
