Bruce Murray Space Image LibraryCuriosity takes in the Kimberley, sol 589 Curiosity takes in the Kimberley, sol 589 Curiosity drove around to the eastern side of the science waypoint named "the Kimberley" on sol 589 (April 3, 2014). This view takes in the whole outcrop, including the striated-unit rocks in the middle ground. The outcrop is bounded by the three buttes of the Kimberley: from left to right, Mount Remarkable, Mount Christine, and Mount Joseph. The striated-unit rocks appear to dip in a number of directions; in the background, they run underneath a flat-lying layer, the middle unit of the Kimberley. In the foreground, interesting furrows seam the sandy soil. NASA / JPL / Damia BouicThis is part of a full 360-degree panorama. View the full panorama at Damia Bouic's website.
