Agreement between Cassini and Chandrayaan-1 lunar spectra
Agreement between Cassini and Chandrayaan-1 lunar spectra Spectra of the lunar surface taken by two different spectrometers, the Moon Mineralogy Mapper on Chandrayaan-1 (white lines) and the Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer on Cassini (blue lines) match very closely, lending confidence to the Moon Mineralogy Mapper team's observations of a water absorption feature at around 2.8 to 3 microns. VIMS extends to longer wavelengths than M3 so can see the whole feature. NASA / ISRO / JPL-Caltech / USGS / Brown University
