Dennis Matson
Cassini Project Scientist, Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Dr. Dennis Matson is the Cassini Project Scientist and a Senior Research Scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His research interests include: theoretical and observational investigation of planetary surfaces and their interactions with atmospheres and magnetospheres; the use of spectrophotometry, radiometry, and spectroscopy in the determination of surface state and composition; geologic interpretation of planetary surfaces using two dimensional spectrophotometry and imaging techniques; optical instrument development, and spacecraft instrument and mission development in the international environment.
