The Day of Action

The Day of Action is The Planetary Society's annual advocacy event that connects space advocates with their members of Congress in Washington, D.C.

Registration for the 2026 Day of Action is now closed, but you can still take part in this major advocacy effort from wherever you live. 

• Write to your representatives with the same messages being shared at the Day of Action: Save NASA Science, and ensure the future of U.S space exploration. 
• Download and share the handout that Day of Action participants will leave with their representatives in Congress, with key information about what's at stake for NASA's budget.

If you're interested in taking part in our annual Day of Action in the future, here's what you need to know:

Why participate?

Research has shown that in-person constituent meetings are the most effective way to engage elected officials on topics like space exploration. If you believe in a future of space, this is the way to show it.

Anyone is welcome, whether they're an experienced space advocate or just a fan of space exploration.

Citizenship Requirements

Anyone with a U.S. address is welcome to attend.

Age Requirements

Anyone under the 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Registration includes

• Online and in-person advocacy training from The Planetary Society's space policy team
• At least three meetings with congressional offices booked for you by The Planetary Society with opportunities for more
• Access to special events, social gatherings, and space-themed experiences for you and fellow members while you're in D.C.

Not included

• Travel to and lodging in Washington, D.C. (See our travel and lodging tips).
