Lunar eclipse tonight

People all over the Internet have written much more knowledgeably than I could about tonight's lunar eclipse (totality from 3:01 to 3:51 UTC), so I'll take the easy way out and point you to Daniel Fischer's excellent entry on the subject, which points to lots of online resources and also makes a case for going to a dark-sky location to witness it. I'll also add a link to Astroprof, who, as always, provides a thorough backgrounder (and also points out that Saturn will be near the Moon in the sky).

My sky is, unfortunately, cloudy -- in fact, rainy. That's not supposed to happen in southern California!
