This animation of Zumba Crater on Mars was created using digital elevation models produced by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft. The camera is travelling at 100 meters per hour. The crater is approximately 600 m deep and 3 km in diameter.

Adrian Lark creates these animations using a 3D engine that he wrote himself that actually generates the fly-throughs in real-time, just like in a video game.
