Tabular rocks on tap The plan had been for Opportunity to drive upslope in April 2018 to tabular rocks that are
positioned above San Juan Pueblo, the area rich with vesicular-like rocks and outcrops.
The rover wound up driving right past these layered outcrops however and ultimately the
MER scientists decided to have their field geologist stop at another dark rock marked
with holes first. The revised plan has the rover heading back downslope to the tabular
