Pressure drops recorded by one of the pressure loggers The first event, about a minute long, indicates a large vortex with a core pressure drop of more than 1 mbar, and a second encounter either smaller or more distant than the first. The first event also saw a drop in sunlight falling on a small solar cell, suggesting the vortex was indeed dust-laden. Ralph Lorenz
