Power plunge
Power plunge Graphic on left shows six slices of Mars, taken at different times, and the impact of the growing dust storm on Opportunity’s visibility as of June 6, 2018. The images were produced by the Mars Color Imager (MARCI) camera onboard MRO and processed by the camera team. The blue dot indicates the rover’s approximate location. Graphic on right shows how the rover’s power level, in watt-hours, dropped dramatically as the storm and its dust moved in on Endeavour Crater in early June 2018.
