Opportunity captured by HiRISE The planet-encircling dust event (PEDE) that wrapped Mars in a blanket of dust in from
late June through August 2018 finally ended in late September and MRO flew over
Endeavour Crater to take an image of the Opportunity. This animation shows the rover
appearing in the center of this square. From the image, the MER team members could
see that dusty sky over Perseverance Valley is substantially cleared. The University of
Arizona in Tucson operates HiRISE, which was built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies
