Mars by Hubble
Mars by Hubble NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope photographed Mars on July 18, near its closest approach to Earth since 2003 and just as the first hints emerged that the planet-encircling dust event of 2018 may be waning. Hubble shot Mars near opposition, when the Sun, Earth and Mars are lined up, with Earth sitting in between the Sun and Mars. It’s springtime heading into summer in Mars’ southern hemisphere, where Endeavour Crater and Opportunity are located. NASA, ESA, and STScI
