The base image is H0988_0000, taken 29 July 2006 by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on ESA's Mars Express. A red/green/blue image was overlaid on a higher-resolution panchromatic image. Here is a version of the base image without markings at the full panchromatic resolution of 12.5 meters per pixel (PNG, 48MB)
