Looking backward from Vera Rubin Ridge, Curiosity sol 1814
Looking backward from Vera Rubin Ridge, Curiosity sol 1814 Curiosity took this Navcam view on sol 1814, shortly after ascending Vera Rubin Ridge. The fractured ridge stretches off to either side of the rover in the foreground. In the middle distance, a line of low buttes marks the southern boundary of the Bagnold dunefield. In the plains beyond the dunefield, invisible at this resolution, likes Curiosity's landing site; the view takes in the rover's entire traverse, more than 5 years of operations.
