Last stop The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) took this image on Dec. 27, 2018. Opportunity is about halfway down Perseverance Valley, still right where she was when the worst planet-encircling dust event (PEDE) observed to date stopped her in her tracks June 10, 2018. HiRISE Principal Investigator Alfred McEwen, Director of the Planetary Image Research Laboratory at the University of Arizona, kindly highlighted Oppy’s location with a yellow box. North is up.
