JWST's view of the Orion Nebula

JWST's view of the Orion Nebula
JWST's view of the Orion Nebula NASA's JWST spacecraft took this near-infrared image of the inner region of the Orion Nebula on Sept. 11, 2022. The Orion Nebula is a stellar nursery visible to the unaided eye as a pale smear beneath the three-starred belt of Orion. It has been imaged by the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes, but JWST's Near-Infrared Camera has provided the clearest picture to date, peering through the dust that enshrouds the infant stars.
