Jupiter & Io from Cassini

Jupiter & Io from Cassini
Jupiter & Io from Cassini Cassini views Io pass by Jupiter in January 2001 from a distance of 10 million km. NASA/JPL/Space Science Institute, Processed by Kevin M. Gill

The image is a mosaic of twelve separate frames taken by Cassini on January 1st, 2001 as it passed by Jupiter, receiving a gravity assist on it's way to Saturn. Color processed using continuum band 2 (CB2) and blue (BL1) filter data as red and blue channels, respectively. Simulated green as a basic average between the two. Color enhanced by running a high pass filter over a duplicate layer and overlaying the original along with a minor vibrancy adjustment. I also applied some sharpening.
