InSight as seen from HiRISE, sol 14

InSight as seen from HiRISE, sol 14
InSight as seen from HiRISE, sol 14 InSight's deck is the bright spot at the center surrounded by darker solar panels and very dark cast shadows. InSight landed in an especially smooth spot. To the east is a fresh impact crater about 100 meters in diameter with blocky ejecta. To the west-southwest is a large splat of impact craters (secondaries from a crater called Corinto, 400 kilometers away). Only the largest crater in the splat has brought up blocks of rock from the subsurface; all the smaller ones lack blocks. NASA / JPL-Caltech / UA / Emily Lakdawalla
