Enceladus in the infrared

Enceladus in the infrared
Enceladus in the infrared This global map of Enceladus shows the icy moon’s surface in infrared wavelengths. Captured by NASA’s Cassini spacecraft as it orbited Saturn, this map shows warmer (redder) regions around the south pole, where liquid water sometimes erupts through the thinner ice.
