Curiosity sol 1951 post-drive AEGIS target

Curiosity sol 1951 post-drive AEGIS target
Curiosity sol 1951 post-drive AEGIS target Mastcam 100 (right eye) image of one of the sol 1951 post-drive AEGIS targets. Shortly after a drive, AEGIS selected this rock from among its surroundings for a ChemCam measurement. The darker red area is where the effect of the ChemCam laser producing a ball of plasma blew away the dust covering the rock. Near the centre of this, a 3x3 grid of small bright points is visible – these are the ChemCam laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) spots. NASA / JPL-Caltech / MSSS
