Chang'e flying to the Moon
Chang'e flying to the Moon Chang’e is a Moon goddess in Chinese legend, a central character in the annual Mid-Autumn or Moon festival (which is on 24 September in 2018). Her companion Yutu, the Jade Rabbit, mixes elixirs for the other immortals in his mortar and pestle. Queqiao, or “magpie bridge,” features in a different legend, a love story about a flock of magpies that form a bridge crossing the Milky Way once a year to reunite the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl.
