Albedo of the Moon seen by M3
Albedo of the Moon seen by M3 The near side of the Moon as seen by the Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) on Chandrayaan-1. This version of the data shows a familiar face of the Moon; anorthositic highlands are light-colored, while the low-lying lunar "seas" or maria are dark. M3 acquired skinny strips of data on a polar orbit. Black areas are gaps in the M3 data set, which would have been filled if Chandrayaan-1 had completed its planned two-year mission.
