JunoCam sees an eruption on Io JunoCam acquired 3 images of Io that show a volcanic plume. The erupting volcano is on the night side of Io, but its plume rises into daylight. This image was composited from red-, green-, and blue-filter images. It was taken on 21 December 2018 at 12:20 UTC, with the Juno spacecraft approximately 300,000 kilometers from Io.
