FY 2027 Proposed Cuts by Directorate

Comparison of FY 2026 enacted to FY 2027 proposed amounts for each of NASA's directorates.

Of NASA's various mission and management directorates, only Exploration (which manages human spaceflight to the Moon) would grow in the President's FY 2027 budget proposal (though, when supplemental funding is taken into account, it would remain flat compared to 2026). Every other activity would see a substantial reduction, with Science being cut nearly in half and STEM Education eliminated entirely.
