A Roadmap to Space

Today at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., a triumvirate of Society leaders including our new President, Jim Bell, our executive director, Lou Friedman, and board member Scott Hubbard, presented "Beyond the Moon: A New Roadmap for Human Space Exploration in the 21st Century." The "Roadmap," as we're calling it, outlines a unifying vision for American space exploration in the coming decades. It's been in the works for a long time, and is the result of both invitation-only meetings of experts and numerous Town Hall meetings where we invited public commentary. The announcement was, of course, timed to take place after the November 4 election, to present our advice to whichever candidate had won. We hope that president-elect Obama and the men and women that he selects to shape NASA will consider the advice it contains.

Please take a look at the Roadmap to Space to see what the experts and the laypeople came up with. If you participated in any of the Town Halls that helped to shape it, thank you for your involvement!
