It’s still too early to say where the Trump Administration will take NASA, but there are a few hints. Congress is not waiting. Casey, Jason and Mat review a draft of the space agency’s authorization bill and a separate act that asks NASA to lay out its plans for humans to reach Mars.

I think Trump's war on tech and computers, namely the Muslim ban and national cyber-security, and corruption will likely harm NASA and possibly, subordinate or at least sell it to Russia's Roscosmos State Corporation. In December 2015, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk warned in his GQ interview that such a movement, along with a massive world war, will stop humanity from conquering Mars. He commented: "I don't think we can discount the possibility of a third World War ... and if that does occur it could be far worse than anything that's happened before. Let's say nuclear weapons are used. I mean, there could be a very powerful social movement that's anti-technology." Musk is right to be worried about anti-technology movements and the possibility of another global war, particularly if Russia gets its wish and sparks a “clash of civilizations.” If that were the case, it would be really hard to imagine humanity devoting the resources necessary to colonize Mars, among other things, as we might be imprisoned forever under a Russian regime that promises "freedom", in reality, under military might, stagnation, corruption and criminality. Baba Vanga, the blind Bulgarian seer, said back in 1979: "Everything melts away like ice yet the glory of Vladimir, the glory of Russia are the only things that will remain. Russia will not only survive, it will dominate the world." So let’s just cross our fingers and hope that doesn’t come to pass.
