Sunrise at Pan-STARRS 1, Haleakala, Hawai'i A view into the dome of Pan-STARRS 1 on the summit of Haleakala volcano. The mountain positions its observatories (which also include the Keck I and II telescopes) above the elevation of clouds. In the distance, Mauna Kea also rises above the clouds.
