Faint view of Ryugu, Hayabusa2's target After August 2016, it won't be possible to see Hayabusa2's target Ryugu again until Hayabusa2 approaches it late in 2018. The asteroid is too small and faint. This series of photos capturing 19th magnitude Ryugu against much brighter stars was captured from Bisei Spaceguard Centre in Japan on August 8, 2016. Learn more here.
