Enceladus creating the E ring
An extended-color (infrared-green-ultraviolet) composite of Cassini images shows the little moon Enceladus jetting water ice and other materials into orbit around Saturn. That material spreads and becomes the E ring, the band across the image against which Enceladus is silhouetted.

The images have been enlarged by a factor of 2 in the fully-enlarged version. Click here for a publication quality PNG.
