Cassini's SAR image of Iapetus Cassini trained its RADAR instrument on Iapetus in September, 2007 to capture this Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image of Iapetus' leading hemisphere. The leading hemisphere is Iapetus' dark hemisphere.
