Jupiter on May 28, 2006 Amateur astronomer Christopher Go caught this view of Jupiter with his Celestron C11 on May 28, 2006. The small red spot that formed from the merger of several white spots has traveled considerably closer to the Great Red Spot since its formation. They were approaching a conjunction in mid-July 2006.
