Surveyor 1 digitized panorama with color photometric target
This image was created by Gary Rennilson from more than 80 individual frames shot by the Surveyor 1 spacecraft. The color photometric target was overlaid using a photograph of a spare target in the possession of Justin Rennilson, one of the original Surveyor camera team project members. The Rennilsons were seeking to recreate a similar color Surveyor photograph that appeared in the October 1966 edition of National Geographic.
