Topics: podcasts and videos, Contests, Planetary Society Names Things, OSIRIS-REx

My guests this week were OSIRIS-REx asteroid naming contest winner Mike Puzio and OSIRIS-REx principal investigator Dante Lauretta. We discussed the naming of asteroid (101955) Bennu and what's going on with the OSIRIS-REx mission.

Thanks to a lot of help from Google+ staff, the wayward video has been recovered, so I can finally post the recording! Yay!!

Recent topics have covered commercial deep space initiatives like that of Planetary Resources. Just what would you (Dante) pay per kilogram for asteroid samples from near Earth or the main belt? How industry gets you the material would be unspecified. Would that be a viable direction for the science objectives - while stimulating innovation and providing business for the nascent space industry.
