Video: Soaring over Earth

Topics: podcasts and videos, Earth, International Space Station

This amazing video has already been posted by basically every other space blogger but I can't resist featuring it too, especially because I just realized that it was not made by NASA but instead by a member of the public digging into public NASA archives of image data -- yay for amateurs!

The other cool thing about this video is to imagine all those people, in all those cities, able to look up just before dawn and see the steadily moving bright star of the Space Station arcing over their heads, looking up as the astronauts look down.

Funding is critical. The more we have, the more effective we can be, translating into more missions, more science, and more exploration.
