Send Your Name to Venus, now with a certificate!

I wrote a few weeks ago about a new Send Your Name to Venus campaign conducted by the Akatsuki mission (Japan's Venus Climate Orbiter). Now The Planetary Society has arranged with JAXA to collect names and messages on our website. Why sign up here? Because you can download and print a certificate acknowledging that your name is indeed on its way to our sister planet! So go sign up, but do it quickly: the deadline is January 8. You can, if you like, include a very short message (up to 40 characters) with your name.

Hmm, I think I'll add the names of everyone to whom I'll be sending Christmas cards this year!

Japan's Akatsuki mission will explore Venus's atmosphere from orbit beginning in 2010. Akatsuki is also known as PLANET-C and Venus Climate Orbiter.
