Solar chromosphere and diamond ring near totality The path of the hybrid solar eclipse on November 3, 2013 crossed the Atlantic Ocean and Africa. This image was taken from Pokwero, Uganda and shows the diamond ring and chromosphere at second contact, just before totality.
