As part of our Messages from Earth program, Planetary Society member names are once again ready to fly into the solar system, this time on board the Japanese Space Agency's (JAXA) IKAROS spacecraft. Names and messages were collected by both JAXA and The Planetary Society (about 34,000 names each). In addition, all Planetary Society members' names were added. The data were recorded onto a silica glass mini-DVD and delivered to JAXA by The Planetary Society.
